n8n, in plain terms
n8n is an open-source (fair-code licence), self-hostable workflow-automation tool: it connects your apps (CRM, email, WhatsApp, accounting, databases…) and moves information between them, automatically, according to your rules. Its distinctive feature: it can run on your own server — not just in a vendor's cloud. For a Moroccan SME, that changes two things: cost and control.
Self-hosted n8n vs subscription platforms
Most consumer automation platforms (Zapier, Make…) work on a subscription: you pay every month, often per task or per operation, and the workflow lives with the vendor. The day you stop paying, it stops. With self-hosted n8n, the model is different:
- You pay for the setup, not a mandatory subscription. The workflow is yours.
- It runs on infrastructure that's yours — you don't depend on anyone to keep using it.
- The cost doesn't climb with volume the way per-task billing does.

Your data (CNDP, law 09-08)
We favour self-hosting: your automation runs on a server you own, not on a third-party SaaS platform. Hosted in Morocco or on your own infrastructure, your personal data never leaves the country — no CNDP transfer formalities (law 09-08). If you prefer a VPS abroad, we tell you the corresponding transfer formalities before we start.
Law 09-08 governs the transfer of personal data outside Morocco — it does not require local hosting. The “no transfer” benefit applies to the Morocco / own-infrastructure case.
